History of Comic Book Superheroes

Only somewhat recently, during the late 1930s and early 1940s, did superheroes really start becoming popular.

In 1935, Doctor Occult was released as the earliest DC Comics character. In years to follow, The Clock, Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, and finally Superman was released in 1938. Now, 76 years later, Superman still ranks as one of the most popular superheroes ever.

Batman was introduced in 1939, Flash in 1940 and Captain America in 1941. More often today, superheroes are released through movies or TV shows,

although they do not seem to have the same staying power or fan base as older comic book superheroes. Modern superheroes include The Incredibles, Hellboy and the Power Rangers.

No matter what kind of superhero fan you are, Simply Superheroes has all your superhero attire, accessories and more covered. Check it out today!
