The New York Times reports the troubled and expensive Turn Off The Dark Broadway musical is delaying its opening from February 6th to March 15th.
The delay, according to the Times, is for good reason: to get the story right. And from the looks of what we saw at the opening preview performance in November, we're not surprised. While the first act was polished, the second act in retrospect seemed more like a rough draft ... with potential.
Since the preview performances with an unfinished story are selling out, all the creative team really needs to do is come up with a plot line that's more intriguing than the process of getting this musical ready for its opening.
