This is going to be quite a fun-filled weekend, starting with the North American release of the movie Thor today, Free Comic Book Day tomorrow and Mother's Day on Sunday.
If you have young kids, they've probably heard of Thor from Super Hero Squad and are probably curious about the movie even though they probably won't be going (since the movie is rated PG-13). If they ask you about Thor, this is a great opportunity to introduce them to mythology, Norse mythology, and even Greek mythology.
On Marvel's website, there's a fun online kids game they can play called Thor: Bring The Thunder.
Tomorrow is a real treat for your kids, the annual Free Comic Book Day. Between little league and soccer games, bring your kids to your local comic book shop to pick up free comic books. If you're not sure where to find a comic book store in your area that will be doing this promotion, the website offers a store locator by entering your zip code.
And lastly, let's not forget about Mom, the real superhero in your life. We hope you have a great time with your Mom on Sunday, whether by phone or in person. Here's a blog post from a previous Mother's Day we wrote: How To Make Your Mom Into A Superhero.
Have a great superhero weekend!
